The planet is currently facing a nature emergency – the variety of plants and animal species that make up its rich biodiversity is significantly impacted by climate change and human activities such as urbanisation, intensification of farming, and pollution. The Cambrian Mountains and Preseli Hills are home to some of Wales’s rarest and most mysterious plants and animals. LERC Wales, and the iRecord system to which it contributes, is a way of recording the location of contemporary biodiversity information to help scientists and policy-makers with research, management, and conservation.
